Carolyn Conn is a business services specialist at The Hilltop Institute. As such, she provides support to the business office by performing essential activities related to human resources (HR) and financial services, ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements and state legislative audits.
Before joining Hilltop, Carolyn was operations manager at Local Locker, where she spearheaded growth initiatives by optimizing internal work planning, time management, and communication systems; coordinated HR functions related to hiring and position management; and managed end-to-end billing processes. As general manager at Clavel, a family-run mezcaleria and taqueria, Carolyn directed HR responsibilities, orchestrated logistics for numerous large-scale events (weddings and fundraisers, for example), and oversaw the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. In this position, she adapted strategies amid significant challenges and successfully ferried Clavel through the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Carolyn has a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art.
