Christine Gill, a principal policy analyst at The Hilltop Institute, is responsible for designing observational studies, implementing analyses, developing visualizations to summarize findings, and reporting results using Medicare, Medicaid, Minimum Data Set, and LTSSMaryland data to support ad hoc and ongoing analyses.
Christine is an established epidemiologist with expertise in project management, statistical analysis, and designing and implementing retrospective, observational studies using secondary data. She has extensive knowledge of multiple administrative databases used in health services research and Medicare policy. Christine has mentored graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior staff on how to approach and analyze large administrative health data sets. Before joining Hilltop, Christine was a research scientist at Index Analytics, LLC, where she led a team of technical staff to perform analyses and convey findings to support the mission of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Coverage and Analysis Group, served as a subject-matter expert on Medicare and Medicaid data and policy, and developed and implemented research protocols for requests posed by CMS on various topics relevant to Medicare beneficiaries. Christine was also a research associate at IMPAQ International, LLC, and an assistant project director at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
Christine holds a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Maryland, an MPH in epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and a BS in chemistry and mathematics (cum laude) from Simmons College.
